We arrived at the Washington DC Union Station after an overnight bus ride from Boston. (Dirk’s colleagues were nice enough to help us take our luggage to the station in Boston.)
The subway is called the Metro in Washington DC (very European) and all the tunnels feel like a scene from a sci-fi movie.
Unfortunately the Washington Monument was under construction due to damage from an earth quake a while ago, so we only had a view of the monument covered with scaffolding.
The long walk to the Lincoln Memorial was worth it for the view.
Of course we had to take a closer look at the White House.
